Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) have streamlined the process of hiring workers from abroad and made it increasingly time-efficient.  It's faster than you probably think.  Hanwood will support your effort to hire foreign workers.

Your Options for Hiring Foreign Skilled Workers
It all starts with either a temporary or a permanent job offer from you.

  • Supporting for Temporary Work Permit
    • To hire a foreign worker, you probably need to get HRSDC's positive Labour Market Opinion.
    • With the LMO, worker can apply for a Work Permit from CIC.
    • If you have been employing foreign workers on temporary work permits and would like to offer them full-time employment, they may be able to obtain Permanent Resident Visa through Canadian Experience Class, a PNP, or Arranged Employment Offer.

  • Support for Permanent Residency
If you would like to hire foreign workers for full-time permanent positions, your future employees will need to complete the Canadian immigration (Permanent Residency) process. There are several fast-track options to choose from.
    • If your business operates in a province that has a Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) for foreign workers, this may be an important fast-track option for you.
    • Another option is Arranged Employment under the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
